Hello Alicia fans! I have finally added blu-ray screen captures of Alicia as Isabel Sherbourne in “The Light Between Oceans” to our gallery. What a beautiful, heart-breaking film that is! If you haven’t seen it already, make sure you do – Alicia’s performance is mesmerizing. I hope you will enjoy the screen captures – there’s a lot of them!
Last friday, Alicia made a guest appearance on the Norwegian talk show “Skavlan”. Skavlan is Scandinavia’s biggest talk show, hosted by Fredrik Skavlan, who interviews Norwegian, Swedish and other international guests every weekend. Alicia was a guest together with the Norwegian talk show host and comedian Jon Almaas, as well as the former Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. This is her second time at the show, first time being all the way back in 2012.
A clip from the episode has been added to youtube, which you can watch below! Alicia and Jon Almaas seem to be acting out a scene with the host, but I can’t understand what Jon says at the beginning in Norwegian to explain it. But the actual scene they play is in Swedish, and seems to be about Alicia murdering their dog. I’ll try to find the full episode for us, and then make screen captures. If any one can help us translate the Norwegian parts, please get in touch.
Source | Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander is slated to portray the video game favorite Lara Croft in an emotional origin “Tomb Raider” movie coming this 2018. Producer Graham King reveals that this film will be a fun and exciting project because of the great writing, cast, crew and director. When the movie comes out, it will be almost two decades since the previous Lara Croft movie, which starred Angelina Jolie.
Vikander (The Danish Girl, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) will play a younger Lara Croft who is searching for her father. The setting of the story will take fans back to the very first Tomb Raider movies and games. Nostalgia will play a big part of the project. King stated in his interview with HeyUGuys that the movie is going to be a “back to the roots story.”
News Everyday confirms that the film will be released in the US on March 16, 2018. This will finally put to rest many fans who were wondering which version of Croft is better on the big screen. While Vikander and Jolie certainly have their own strengths and styles, we cannot give a verdict until we see it ourselves.
In the meantime, fans of the original video game are more excited than ever. In addition to the coming movies, the 20th anniversary of the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” game is being celebrated with some major updates. There are additional skins and outfits, but the biggest bonus comes in the form of new levels and challenges.
Hello Alicia fans! Earlier today, Nicolas Ghesquière presented his Spring 2017 show for Louis Vuitton at the Paris Fashion Week. The show was held in 2 Place Vendôme, and as one of the brand’s muses, Alicia attended the event along with many other well known celebrities. Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly, Miranda Kerr, and Catherine Deneuve was some of the many faces at the front row along with our girl – who looked spectacular!
I have added the first high quality pictures to our gallery, but we will be adding a lot more later – stay tuned! Head over to our gallery to start browsing all the pretty new photos…
Our girl continues to be a desired cover girl for magazines, and is currently covering the Winter 2016 issue of Porter Magazine! She was photographed by Ryan McGinley, in a photoshoot styled very differently from what she has done in the past. The spread is getting both praise and critique by fashion lovers, and while it might not be my personal favorite Alicia cover either, she looks so amazing in the photoshoot! It’s a must check-out; enjoy the pretty!
We hope to have hiqh quality scans with time, but for now, make sure to purchase your very own copy of the magazine! You can buy it online at this page.
Alicia to Porter:
On her relationship with Michael Fassbender and working with him on The Light Between Oceans: “We’ve never hidden the fact that we’re a couple… He’s extremely hardworking. He was like, ‘Give me something new! I just need a new idea. I need to do it differently.’ I just thought that was cool. Because that was what I was trying to do, too. To push each other and come up with new ideas each time.”
On the Brexit vote: “I couldn’t believe my eyes. I am European. I grew up in a small country. Without it, I would not be where I am right now in my career – I wouldn’t have been able to live with my three girlfriends in London. As a foreigner, I probably wouldn’t have been cast in Anna Karenina if they’d had to pay for a working visa. I hope here in America that it opens people’s eyes that you can’t just let things happen. You need to get involved.”
On working with women: “I can count on my hands the scenes I’ve done with women.” [She recalls acting in a scene with Holliday Grainger for the upcoming Tulip Fever.] “At the end, I was like, ‘That was fun.’ And then I kind of looked up at her and we talked about it. ‘Something’s different. What is it?’ And I realized that I hadn’t had a proper two-page scene with another woman, just playing off each other.”
Hello Alicia fans! Over the next few weeks, we will be adding a bunch of additional high quality photos of Alicia at public events to our gallery. I’ve started with 2012, and there have been more than 100 pretty new additions! Inquirer – LOS ANGELES—“You always wonder if you are going to have chemistry,” Alicia Vikander said about her leading men as she starts each new movie. The actress certainly wondered about Michael Fassbender when they began filming “The Light Between Oceans.”
Well, not only does the pair have good chemistry; they fell in love on the New Zealand set of director Derek Cianfrance’s adaptation of ML Stedman’s novel of the same name.
In the drama set after World War I, Alicia and Michael play a lighthouse keeper (Tom) and his wife (Isabel), who’s recovering from two miscarriages and one stillbirth. When a baby washes ashore in a lifeboat, they raise her as their own.
Rachel Weisz also stars in the movie that recently debuted in the Venice Film Festival. Alicia, 27, and Michael, 39, made a sweet couple on the red carpet at the film’s premiere in the festival on the Lido.
The Swedish actress looked lovely in a simple linen white dress in this talk in West Hollywood, California. She was filming Wim Wenders’ “Submergence” and was set to go on location in the Faroe Islands, an archipelago located between Norway and Iceland.
“I am thrilled to go to the Faroe Islands,” she said. “I have never been there, and Wim says it’s like Mars.”
Excerpts from our interview:
What was it like to work with Michael? Was there immediate chemistry between the two of you?
We had met in industry events, like the Toronto Film Festival and the Baftas. But the first time we really had a chat was when we started rehearsals in Wellington (New Zealand). You always wonder if you are going to have chemistry with your coactor, especially when making a film that is intimate and emotionally intense. Yes, it felt easy from the very beginning.
Do you remember the first time you watched Michael in the movies?
I was in this little indie theater back home in Stockholm, Sweden, where I saw both “Hunger” and “Fish Tank” many years ago. I thought he was one of the bravest actors I had seen. So, for me, to know that Derek Cianfrance and Michael were involved in this project made me really want to be a part of it.
